Urgent & Emergency Plumbing in Banora Point and the Tweed

Burst pipes, major leaks and overflowing drains that can't wait.

If water is near electrical outlets or switchboards, keep clear and turn off power at the switchboard only if it is safe to do so.

Some plumbing problems can wait until Monday. Others can damage floors, walls and belongings within minutes. When water is pouring from a pipe, sewage is coming back up through a drain, or you've lost water to the whole property, you need a licensed plumber to assess it quickly.

A4plumbing handles urgent plumbing work across Banora Point, Tweed Heads and nearby areas. Call us to describe what's happening — we'll tell you honestly whether we can attend and what you can do to limit damage in the meantime. After-hours availability varies, so please call to confirm.

Common problems we help with

  • Burst or split water pipes
  • Water leaking through ceilings or walls
  • Sewage overflowing from a gully, toilet or shower
  • No water supply to the property
  • Hot water system leaking heavily or releasing water from the relief valve constantly
  • A toilet that won't stop overflowing

Signs you should call a plumber

You can hear water running when every tap is off
The water meter is spinning with nothing in use
Wastewater is rising in showers or floor drains
There's a strong sewer smell inside the house
Water is pooling near the switchboard or power points

How the job works

  1. 1

    Make it safe

Turn off the water at the main stop tap (usually near the meter at the front boundary). For hot water leaks, also turn off the system's power or gas.

  2. 2

    Call A4plumbing

Tell us what you can see and hear. Photos sent by text help us bring the right parts.

  3. 3

    Assessment on site

We locate the cause, isolate the problem and explain the options before carrying out any repair.

  4. 4

    Repair or temporary fix

Where a permanent repair needs parts or more time, we can make the situation safe and book a follow-up.

What affects the cost?

Every job is different, so we don't publish fixed prices. We'll explain the costs before work begins. Factors include:

  • Time of day and day of the week
  • How easy the problem is to reach (inside walls, under slabs, in ceilings)
  • Parts and materials required
  • Whether a temporary fix is needed before a permanent repair

Prevention and maintenance tips

  • Know where your main water stop tap is and check it turns freely
  • Replace old flexible tap hoses before they fail — they're a common cause of indoor floods
  • Don't ignore slow drains or gurgling sounds; they often come before an overflow

Questions customers ask

Do you offer 24/7 emergency plumbing?

Availability outside normal hours depends on current bookings. Please call — we'll let you know straight away whether we can help or what to do next.

Where is my water main shut-off?

In most Tweed and southern Gold Coast homes it's beside the water meter near the front boundary. Turn the tap clockwise to close it.

Should I call my insurer first?

Stop the water and make the area safe first. Take photos, then contact your insurer. We can provide a written description of the cause and work carried out.
